EXPRESS ASPHALT OPENS FIRST WELSH PLANT
Express Asphalt has celebrated the opening of its first asphalt
plant in Wales, supplying local authorities, utility reinstatement
contractors, local surfacing and construction companies and pavers
in and around Swansea and the Vale of Neath.
Based at Skewen, Express Asphalt Neath Abbey is ideally situated
at the junction of the A465 and the M4 motorway and offers a fast
and efficient asphalt collection service, including hot storage
facilities.
The plant is open seven days a week from 6.00am and produces a
wide range of asphalt products including macadams, hot rolled
asphalt, SMA and pre-coating chippings. It also offers a selection
of merchanting products for sale, such as PPE, shovels and tarpaulins.
Neath Abbey is supplied with local aggregates from Bardon Aggregates’
Cwm Nant Lleici Quarry near Swansea and Allt Y Garn Quarry in
Cross Hands. An efficient delivery service is also available.
Express Asphalt’s business manager for Neath Abbey, Julian
Radcliffe, says: “The new plant is designed to cater for
the needs of customers requiring smaller quantities of asphalt
while also providing a high level of personal service. Collect
loads are available from as little as three quarters of a tonne
with no prior ordering necessary. Most importantly, orders are
placed directly with the plant , rather than via an off-site call
centre, so customers can be assured of good quality, local service
and a high level of technical advice if required.”
Express Asphalt has a network of plants throughout the UK which
are easily accessible by transport networks and carefully located
to reduce travelling times for local customer collections. All
plants can produce small quantities of asphalt and are designed
to facilitate quick and efficient loading. As with all its plants,
Express Asphalt Neath Abbey is assured to the ISO 9001:2000 quality
standard and ISO 14001 for environmental management systems.
