MAYOR OPENS EXPRESS ASPHALT’S FIRST PLANT IN WALES

The Mayor of Neath Port Talbot Borough Council, Councillor D.K Davies, officially opened Express Asphalt’s first Welsh asphalt plant at Neath Abbey on 24th June.

In his introduction to the new plant, Councillor D K Davies, explained: “The new Neath Express Asphalt plant focuses strongly on personal service. Technical advice will be available to all visitors, and small customers will not need to order in advance – they can simply turn up unannounced. The plant has also adopted a ‘four more’ philosophy – more speed, more choice, more reliability and more quality.”

A leading supplier of high quality asphalt materials, Express Asphalt’s first plant in Wales provides local authorities, utility reinstatement contractors, local surfacing and construction companies and pavers in and around Swansea and the Vale of Neath, with a wide range of asphalt products including macadams, hot rolled asphalt, SMA and pre-coated chippings.

Express Asphalt Neath Abbey offers a conveniently located asphalt collection service. Its products are supplied in small quantities mainly for reinstatement and repair work and are backed by a high level of technical support and excellent customer service.

The site was chosen for its highly convenient transportation links situated at the junction of the A465 and the M4 motorway, to reduce travelling times for local customer collections. The new asphalt plant creates employment for five local people and aims to regenerate the area.

Express Asphalt’s business manager for Neath Abbey, Julian Radcliffe, says: “The new plant caters for the needs of customers requiring smaller quantities of asphalt while also providing a high level of personal service. Orders are placed directly with the plant, rather than via an off-site call centre, so customers can be assured of a single point of contact, high quality materials, an efficient local service and a high level of technical advice if required.”
